This 103,000 square-foot conference center was planned for the Economic Development Council (EDC) of the City as a key catalyst for future downtown development linking Austin Peay State University, the downtown entertainment district, and the existing riverfront development.

The flexible plan of the facility with operable walls separating the 19,000 square-foot exhibition hall, 9,000 square-foot ballroom, and 5,600 square-foot presentation room allows the building to accommodate a wide variety of small concerts, sporting events, and meetings. The historic image of the building is based upon the design elements taken from the distinctive buildings in the downtown including the brick veneer, stone facing, heavy cornices, sloped roofs, clerestory windows, and corner tower elements.

This project was completed by Kenneth M. Betsch, AIA, while a Managing Principal for Odell Associates, Inc., in association with Lyle Cook Martin and Rufus Johnson Associates.
