This project required a detailed programming effort to develop consistent office standards for the corporation and the total required square footage for the project. This 232,000 square feet building complex consisted of three five-story steel structures connected by a gothic arched glass atrium. It included parking for 750 employees and 36 visitors, two training rooms, 10,000 square foot computer center, full service kitchen, and employee dining room. The exterior skin consisted of diagonal ribbed architectural precast panels with green tinted ribbon windows. The interior office space incorporated cellular deck floors, open office workstations, and large open floor plates to provide flexibility in the office layouts.
The original complex was master planned with two buildings around the atrium and allowed for a third building for the complex to provide a 50% expansion of the office space. However, due to the rapid growth of the company, the building expansion was completed with the original building on the same schedule. Subsequently, a separate 2-floor, 60,000 square foot building was added to the complex adjacent to the headquarters.
This project was completed by Kenneth M. Betsch, AIA while a Principal with Odell Associates, Inc.
